Date palm is a flowering plant species in the palm family, cultivated for its edible fruit.It probably originated from the fertile crescent region straddling between Egypt and Mesopotamia. The species is grown across North Africa, Middle east and South Asia .Dates are oval-cylindrical ,long ,ranging from bright red to bright yellowish, depending upon the variety dried dates are very sweet, and containing 60-75% of sugar.
